XQuest Archery Club - Youth Membership
XQuest Archery Club - Youth Membership
XQuest offers a 3, 6 or 12 month membership to adults who have completed the archery 101: foundations (level one) course or the archery 100: open format requirements. Or to youth who have completed the archery 101: foundations (level two) course.
In addition to your club membership, an Archery Ontario/Archery Canada Membership is required. The Archery Ontario membership provides you with the necessary liability insurance to practice in the archery range unsupervised. Archery Ontario (AO) is a separate entity from XQuest Archery so to purchase your AO/AC membership, please navigate to https://archeryontario.ca/
Following purchase, you can pick up your membership card at the pro shop front desk during pro shop hours. Invoice number and valid ID REQUIRED at pick up.
An Archery Ontario Membership is also REQUIRED in order to pick up your XQuest Membership card. And your XQuest membership card must be on you at all times while you are in the range.
Lost your ID card? Replacement cost is $10.00 plus HST.
A resident of Quebec? Unfortunately you will be unable to purchase an Archery Ontario membership. Never fear, though, Quebec has it's own provincial sports organization that provides nation wide liability coverage to it's members.
The good news is that we do accept the Federation Tir a L'Arc (FTAQ) membership in place of the Archery Ontario membership. Please visit https://www.tiralarcquebec.com/ to register.
Please note, that while Archery Ontario will provide you with membership coverage the day of purchase, FTAQ requires several days in order to provide you with your membership information. Proof of purchase, is not the same as your ID number.
Youth members must be 10+ at time of purchase.

Range Safety and Equipment Rules
Range Safety Rules
- The shooting line must be called “CLEAR” before shooting can begin. The last shooter on the line shall call “CLEAR” when they have completed shooting.
- No one shall approach the targets until all shooting has been completed and the range has been declared “CLEAR”. The last person to return from retrieving arrow shall confirm there is nobody down range and call the range “CLEAR” to commence shooting.
- When you are done shooting, step back from the shooting line to the orange waiting line to indicate that you have completed shooting.
- No archer may draw a bow with an arrow except when standing on the shooting line and the line is clear for shooting.
- Non-shooters must stay behind the orange waiting line when there are people shooting on the line. Club approved Coaches are exempt.
- No archer may draw back the string of a bow using any technique that would intentionally, or unintentionally, result in an arrow hitting the ceiling, the walls, or the floor.
- If you drop an arrow and you cannot reach it, do not step beyond the shooting line to retrieve that arrow until the range is called “CLEAR”.
- Target centers are NOT to be placed over the seam between target cubes. Archers are asked to move their target regularly to ensure even wear on the target system and not cause undo damage.
Equipment Rules
- NO broadhead arrows or field points are to be shot on the range target system.
- NO crossbows are allowed in the range.
- Recurve and compounds may not exceed 50 pounds draw weight.
- All World Archery equipment rules are followed, including arrow diameter.
Equipment must be inspected prior to first use in the range.
We reserve the right to inspect equipment at any time. If you are found to be in violation of the equipment rules, you will be asked to leave and the remainder of your time in the range will be forfeit.
If you are found to be unsafe or in violation of any of the above rules at anytime during your drop in booking, you will be asked to leave immediately and your remaining time will be forfeit. In order to participate in any future drop ins you will need to have completed a minimum of a level one course.
We take everyone's safety seriously.
Range Booking Rules
Shooting during Course Sessions
- When there are classes in session, members MUST book range time using the XQuest Member Range Booking Portal on the homepage of the XQuest website.
- Time slots can be booked as far as seven (7) days in advance and not later than thirty (30) minutes before the start time.
- If you are unable to make your booked time slot you MUST unbook your slot so that another member is able to use the range in your place. Failure to do so more than once could result in your booking privileges being revoked.
- Arriving late to your time slot does not extend your time in the range past the original end time.
- When classes are in session, members MUST follow the lead of the class with regards to shooting, and arrow retrieval. As we are always following range safety it is poor etiquette to keep the class waiting on you as they have the priority at that time.
Membership Policies
All members must sign the member log in the Pro Shop before entering the range.
Members are able to use the range during range hours (hours posted on the website and in the range calendar).
Members are able to shoot during scheduled class times but range use will be limited. The Archery Range is subject to closures, please check the range calendar regularly to avoid disappointment.
Members will be issued a range id badge which must be kept on their person at all times while active in the range. There will be a $10.00 plus HST charge to replace lost ID cards. Failure to carry your ID badge while active in the range will result in your removal from the range.
Members must have read and understood the equipment and range rules. Failure to comply with the equipment and range rules will result in a cancellation of privileges with no refund of membership dues.
Members are to assume responsibility for their own equipment; the club or XQuest Archery Inc. is not responsible for lost, stolen, broken or damaged equipment.
NO unattended personal articles, including vehicles, motorcycles and trailers are to be left at the XQuest Archery location.
NO alcohol to be consumed on the premises and anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused permission to shoot and asked to leave the property.
